| 2012 Firefighter Calendar Release Party |
On November 2nd, 2011, join the Colorado Springs Professional Firefighters for the 2012 Firefighter Calendar Release Party! The release party will be kicking off at the Ritz downtown in the Elbow Room from 7-9pm. $20 gets you in and includes the newest calendar, a free drink and access to having the models sign your 2012 calendar!! Cash and credit cards will be accepted and don't forget that they make great gifts for the holidays! So bring your friends and come on down to share an evening with your Local firefighters! | 2011 Fallen Firefighter Memorial |
Local 5 would like to Thank all of the families and members of many different IAFF Local's from around the country that traveled to Colorado Springs for the 2011 Fallen Firefighter Memorial. As in years past and also each day in the future, Local 5 will continue to watch over the sacred IAFF memorial where the names of our members stand etched in the walls of honor. | Local 5 Ale - Tapping |
This next Tuesday Sept 13 at 6pm, Bristol Brewing will be doing the annual tapping for the Local 5 Ale! As always, Bristol Brewing is very gracious in donating all proceeds raised from the sales of Local 5 Ale to our proud Local. Come on down to Bristol Brewery, bring your friends and family for a good time in support the kickoff of the 2011 Local 5 Ale!

| 2011 FIll the Boot Totals! |
On Sunday Sept 4th, Local 5 went on the Local MDA Telethon and presented over $53,000 to the Muscular Dystrophy Association! This was in part to the off duty events throught this past year and the On Duty and Off duty collections over the past 2 weekends. Even with the new time constraints for collecting on duty, without everyones willigness to go out and collect and the selfless giving by the citizens of Colorado Springs, this would not be possible!

| FireOps 101 |
The Colorado Springs Professional Firefighters hosted our 2nd FireOps 101 event on Saturday, August 13, 2011. This educational program allows politicians, members of the media and other community leaders to experience first hand a day in the life of a Colorado Springs Firefighter. 7 Colorado Springs City Council Members participated, in addition to several representatives from local media outlets and 2 representatives for City Safety. Attendees participated in fire attack, search and rescue, vehicle extrication and cardiac arrest management evolutions. The importance of 4 person minimum staffing and proper resource deployment was clearly understood after performing these evolutions hands on.
