A Message from the President

On behalf of our Executive Board and membership of the Colorado Springs Professional Firefighters Association, IAFF Local 5, thank you for supporting the men and women who work selflessly and tirelessly to protect our community.

Every day, the members of Local 5 answer the call to serve the residents, businesses, and visitors of Colorado Springs. Whether we're responding to fires, medical emergencies, rescues, hazardous materials incidents, or natural disasters, our firefighters and paramedics are committed to protecting lives and strengthening the community we're honored to serve.

Behind every emergency response is a highly-trained professional who has chosen a career built on service, sacrifice, and dedication. Local 5 exists to support those professionals by advocating for their safety, wellness, and ability to perform their duties at the highest level. We believe that when firefighters and emergency responders are properly supported, the entire community benefits.

When we're not responding to fires or training for the next emergency, our members are active members of our community. We coach youth sports, volunteer with charitable organizations, support local events, and raise our families here. The trust our neighbors place in us is something we value deeply and work every day to earn.

As President of IAFF Local 5, I am proud of the men and women who serve this city with courage, professionalism, and compassion. I am equally proud of the strong relationships we have built with our community and the continued support we receive from the people we serve.
