About IAFF Local 5

The Colorado Springs Professional Firefighters Association, IAFF Local 5, proudly represents the firefighters who protect the residents, businesses, and visitors of Colorado Springs. For generations, our members have courageously and selflessly dedicated themselves to keeping our community safe.

As an affiliate of the International Association of Fire Fighters, Local 5 advocates for the health, safety, and interests of our members while supporting a department that provides excellence in public safety to our neighbors. Our association works to ensure our members receive the most up-to-date training and the best equipment, and that there are enough firefighters on the street to protect our community.

In addition to extinguishing fires, your Colorado Springs firefighters respond to medical emergencies, hazardous materials incidents, technical rescues, wildland fires, and other emergencies. Whether we're answering a 911 call, educating the public about fire safety, or attending community events, our commitment to service extends far beyond the emergency scene.

When your firefighters aren't on duty, we're proud to give back to our community through charitable partnerships, public education, and civic engagement. We recognize that the trust placed in us by the citizens of Colorado Springs is earned every day through professionalism, accountability, and service.

At our core, we are firefighters serving firefighters. We stand together to protect our members, support their families, honor those who came before us, and ensure future generations of firefighters have the resources and support they need to protect this great community.
